EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS LED BY DIFFERENT EUROPEAs

April 27, 2018
By: Paco Fernandez

During the Symposium of EUROPEA – International held in Blainvillle sur Mer from 2nd to 7th April, there was an opportunity to present examples of projects that are currently being developed or have recently been completed. Among the exhibited projects, the LOASA project and the ANNIE – Aquaponics project, both led by Wellantcollege the Netherlands, were shared.

Jan Jeronimus, in his presentation of the LOASA project, made a contextualization of the current situation of the labour market in Europe, in which a gap has been detected between the needs of the labour market and the training received by young people in their educational institutions. This means less possibilities of employability and less potential for the entrerprises. On the other hand, it has also been realized the huge difficulties that workers who are seeking employment abroad face in order to get a post that fits with their qualification levels, mainly due to the diversity of educational systems in the EU and the lack of easy ratification of educational achievement between countries.

For his part, Ton Stok, presented the results of the recently completed ANNIE project, in which the partners have learned how to manage and develop Aquaponics systems, a combined production of fish and vegetables, which allows water conservation, less use of fertilizers and space, therefore contributing by this way to the planet’s sustainability by providing quality food for its increasing population.
