Some students of La Malvesia Vocational School have developed a prototype drone to combat a common pest, the tiger mosquito, through biological control in order to reduce the application of chemical pesticides in the environment.

First, we have had a training course which helped teachers and students to learn how to create a new drone. This course has theoretical and practical lessons given by Caleidoscopio and it also counts with the economic support of the local government of Catadau city. We are really grateful to both of them for their contributions.

Throughout the process, the young creators have also had the guidance of their teachers, who have helped them to carry out this project.

As the principal of La Malvesia said “Technology learning is not the main objective of this project. The most important bit is to be aware of how technology could and solves social problems and how students must be involved in this challenge”.
