🚜 Stredná odborná škola, Pruské was strongly represented at AgroSkills 2026. Two of its agromechatronics students achieved outstanding results: Peter Siváček took 1st place with 160.8 points, while Filip Kyselica finished 3rd with 147.6 points.
Between them, 2nd place went to Csaba Kankulya from SOŠ technická a agropotravinárska Rimavská Sobota, with 151.5 points. The three top performers competed among 28 students from 14 vocational schools across Slovakia.
The competition tested practical skills in areas such as ploughing, tractor and trailer handling, loader operation, tractor maintenance, combine adjustment, seeder settings and navigation.
🐾 Stredná odborná škola veterinárna, Nitra also took part in AgroSkills 2026, with students Erik Valašek and Šimon Vríčan representing the school. Their participation highlighted the broad range of practical skills developed within agricultural and veterinary vocational education, including knowledge and skills connected with modern agricultural technology, machinery, maintenance and practical fieldwork.
Together, these examples show what vocational education can look like when knowledge meets practice – and when young people are given opportunities to develop the practical skills needed for the future of agriculture, veterinary services, forestry, food production and rural communities.
