In our school there are currently 372 pupils in 15 classes and the pupils are being educated for the following occupations: technician of agriculture, technician of food-processing, veterinary technician, technician of horticulture, technician of biotechnology, baker and operator-mechanic of agricultural machinery. The pupils are being educated by motivated teachers, proficient in their subjects. Apart from providing education, a great deal of attention is paid to upbringing.
Our school provides pupils with knowledge, skills and competences required by the present-day market and enables pupils to self-educate themselves and accurately self-evaluate their own values.
We are creating tolerant personalities ready for a mutual appreciation of differences. We are developing partnerships with the pupils, their parents and the local community. Special attention is paid to financially challenged pupils, so that they could find employment after finishing high school and become independent.
Theoretical teaching is conducted in 12 classrooms, 10 cabinets, 2 laboratories, 5 workshops, a veterinary infirmary, a library, additional spaces, such as a greenhouse, a glasshouse, training space, etc.
Agricultural and veterinary practical teaching is conducted at the school farm, which disposes of 164 hectares of plough-land. For agricultural production and the realisation of agricultural practical teaching, we dispose of the essential mechanisation, facilities and equipment for vegetable and livestock production. Practical work, drills and a part of theoretical teaching are carried out in the vocational subject cabinets, the veterinary infirmary, the pupils’ workshop and manufacturing plants.
A one-hectare area is converted into a space for practicing the conduction of vegetable production technological operations. Experimental production, which is a part of the pupils’ practical teaching, is conducted in a glasshouse, greenhouses and in open fields.
Theoretical and practical teaching in the food-processing field is conducted in the school cabinets and a part of the teaching is carried out in enterprises. The cabinets are equipped with modern teaching resources and they provide great possibilities for quality teaching.
A special emphasis is put on the ecological component of modern agricultural production by enabling environmental protection goals through overcoming various technological unities. There is an eco-pond in a part of the school yard intended for rest and around it the space is decorated in an ethno way. This space represents a part of the history of agricultural production in these areas.
The eco-pond was created by seniors – future gardeners-florists. In it, aquatic herbs and small fish from the Great Bačka Canal have found their place.
Through practical work, games and fun, the green areas of the school have been decorated with several thousand pieces of annual flowers grown by pupils at the school greenhouse.
The school’s developmental goals are: promotion of teaching by the introduction of active studying methods, favouring group and individual forms of teaching, purchasing contemporary teaching resources and introducing profiles required in the world of work.
