Czech Republic reports that there is still a great interest in education in the green sector
Currently, primary school pupils are applying to study at various secondary schools. The fact that many of them have opted for a career in the green sector is more than pleasing.
In order to keep the sector attractive to young people, there is a need to keep up with the time’s and offer them new, trendy fields of study.
The Agricultural College and Agricultural Secondary School Benešov is also coming up with such a programme from the new school year.
The programme is called Design of Urban Greening. This is a new field of study focused on innovative approaches to the establishment and maintenance of urban Green spaces. During the four years of study, students will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to create Green habitats that respect natural ecosystems and biodiversity.
This new field of study was created thanks to the school’s involvement in an international movement – the European Platform for Urban Greening
