Under the EVECSA COVE Project (https://climatesmart4agri.eu/), team Denmark recently hosted an inspiring International Climate-Smart Agriculture Competition Week, bringing together young talents and educators from across Europe.

For three intensive and exciting days, 19 students, supported by 10 teachers-coaches and 2 facilitators, worked together to tackle a real-life agricultural challenge.

The programme combined site visits, teamwork, expert consultations, and creative innovation sessions. Students began by visiting research facilities and a farm AU Viborg connected to Aarhus University, where they explored real examples of climate-smart agriculture and interviewed experts to understand the challenges faced by modern farmers.

Armed with new insights, the international teams spent the following days analysing the problem, brainstorming ideas, and developing innovative solutions. Through guided workshops and mentoring from teachers and facilitators, the students moved from problem analysis to concept development, prototyping, and final presentations.

The students worked with impressive dedication and enthusiasm. Long hours of collaboration, discussion, and creativity resulted in unique and inspiring solutions addressing real agricultural and environmental challenges. Their ideas demonstrated not only strong technical knowledge but also a deep understanding of sustainability, innovation, and the future of European agriculture.

The final day concluded with team presentations and a jury session, where the students pitched their concepts and received feedback from experts. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, pride, and a strong sense of international cooperation and you can get an impression here: https://youtu.be/h_QyU9SwupE

Beyond the competition itself, the event also strengthened cross-border collaboration between vocational schools, giving students the opportunity to work in multicultural teams and learn from different agricultural traditions and perspectives.

Activities like this show how the EVECSA project empowers the next generation of agricultural professionals, helping them develop the skills, creativity, and confidence needed to address the complex challenges facing agriculture and climate in Europe.

Denmark was proud to host this dynamic learning experience and looks forward to continued collaboration within the EVECSA network.
