On January 12th, the breaking-in of Alter Real (AR) fillies began at EPDRAC, a fundamental step in the training of horses, both for leisure and for a future sporting career.
Breaking in is a progressive process, developed in phases, that allows the horse to be prepared in a structured and careful way. In the first stage, the 11th and 12th grade Equestrian students carried out the work of guiding the horse in the three gaits, using protections on the limbs, bridle and headstall, always ensuring the well-being and safety of the animals.
Continuing the work started in January, the process entered a new phase in February, with the introduction of the harness in the three gaits. The students maintain a guided and progressive approach, consolidating essential practical skills for their training path.
At EPDRAC, quality training is valued, combining practice, technical rigor and deep respect for the horse, while ensuring the best conditions for the development of these young Alter Real specimens.
All this work culminates with the presentation of the ridden fillies at the centenary and annual Alter Stud Farm Auction.
