As we already are aware, upcoming AgroChallenge will take place in the UK on July 1–2. 2026. Laura Meyles and Claire Skipper visited the AgroChallenge 2025 in the Netherlands to meet Dutch edition organisers and observe whole event. After the competition we asked the British guests to share their thoughts and insights.
How was the experience in the Netherlands?
The competition was great and very well organized. Observing the event gave plenty of new ideas for planning our edition. It was definitely helpful to be present.
How is the preparation going for the AgroChallenge 2026?
We already have the competition venue and accommodation arranged (Easton College). One of my colleagues, Chrlie Askew, probably you know him 😊, has come up with over 20 potential competition tasks. So, we have long list of tasks to choose.
Will any of the Dutch competition tasks be included in the AgroChallenge 2026?
Yes, I believe EUROPEA has a core set of tasks that should be present at every competition. I’ve reviewed all the previous competitions tasks descriptions. We’ll definitely include tractor-related challenges like reversing a trailer, tractor driving etc. There will also be some uniquely British tasks, but those will remain a surprise for now. 😊
What else can you reveal about the AgroChallenge 2026?
We’re planning to host the competition across two locations, although time will tell if that’s feasible. One thing I really enjoyed in the Netherlands was the coach’s competition – it’s a brilliant idea! We’ll definitely include a similar challenge for coaches in our program as well.
