Did you know… Dutch student-teachers active in EUROPEA schools

Six teacher training students from Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Wageningen (previously known as Stoas) taught for two weeks in EUROPEA schools, mid-October 2019. Two students went to Austria to teach in Fachschule Kobenz (supervised by Peter Prietl). Another pair of students went to Italy to join the team of colleagues of the Vocational Wine School ‘Cerletti’ in Conegliano (supervised by Giovanni Mariani) and finally two students went to Jyväskylä Educational Consortium Gradia in Finland (supervised by Jari Järvenranta). During the EUROPEA seminar in Cluj, Romania, Jan-Willem Noom from Aeres UAS established the idea of these teaching internships. Of course these experiences have an added value to the study profiles of the Dutch students, but also for EUROPEA schools it is a way to arrange international affairs ‘at home’: for teachers it is a manner to compare cultures and teaching approaches. For pupils and students in the vocational schools it offers a chance to meet international teachers during their lessons.

Is your EUROPEA school also interested in this kind of short intensive internships by Dutch teacher training students? Feel free to contact Jan-Willem Noom, mobility coordinator of Aeres UAS.
