Digital competences – what are these?
Due to this challenge in teaching and learning due to the current Covid-19 situation – digital competences have hardly ever been more discussed in schools and training centers.
Are digital skills (or competences?) acquired in IT classes or is there more to it? Are these simply ‘added’ to all the others? Dr. Sarah Genner (Zurich University of Applied Sciences) presented a clear and systematic model with skills and basic values in the handbook “Growing up in the digital age”. It defines digital competences as cross-sectional competences somehow allocated to the professional, social and personal ones.
