Ballyhaise College in County Cavan was delighted to host a group of four students from Kpedu, Kannus College, Finland in September under the college’s first Erasmus Student Exchange Programme. College lecturer Linda Coghlan led the planning and organisation of the exchange programme and was supported by John Crawford (forestry), Arthur Kierans (forestry), John McElvaney (mechanisation) and John Delaney (mechanisation). The four exchange students, Ville, Pasi, Valtteri and Elias participated fully in the college programmes by attending classes, practical skills training sessions and going on field trips. The highlight was attending the Irish National Ploughing Championships which this year also included the World Championships. Teagasc forestry/agriculture/mechanisation students from Ballyhaise College will visit Kpedu, Kannus College in 2023 on their part of the exchange.
