DESCRIPTION:  \nAbout European Student Championship in Forestry Skills “ESCFS – 2025”\n  \nEuropean Student Championship in Forestry Skills (hereinafter referred to as “ESCFS 2025”) between May 20 and May 25\, 2025\, is organized by Ogre Technical School (Latvia) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia\, JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” (Latvia’s State Forests) and the association “Meža sports” (Forest sports)\, supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia\, co-financed by forestry and other industry entrepreneurs. The co-organizer of the Championship is Luua Forestry School (Estonia). \n“ESCFS 2025″ is taking place for the 21st time and is being hosted by Latvia for the first time. Young foresters from 16 countries – Austria\, Belgium\, Estonia\, France\, Italy\, Luxembourg\, the Netherlands\, Norway\, Poland\, Romania\, Slovenia\, Spain\, Hungary\, Germany\, Sweden\, and Latvia – including 16 boys and 6 girls\, in total 22 teams\, will participate in the “ESCFS 2025”. \nAs part of the Championship\, young people from European countries will demonstrate their expertise in forest restoration and maintenance in the forest under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science\, managed by Ogre Technical School in Birzgale Parish\, Ogre County. Mastery and dexterity in working with a chainsaw will be demonstrated at the year’s grandest forest awareness event “Latvian Forestry Days” in the JSC’s “Latvijas valsts meži”  Nature park Tervete on May 23 and 24\, 2025\, where young people will present their skills in technical disciplines as fitting another chain\, precision bucking\, bucking by combined cuts and limbing. \nThe opening of the “ESCFS 2025″ will take place at the Ogre Technical School and Ogre Cultural Centre on May 20\, 2025\, at 19:00\, while the end of the championship and the award ceremony – on May 24\, 2025\, at 15:00 in Nature Park Tervete. \nOgre Technical School thanks each supporter of the Championship and invites everyone to the forestry industry celebration on May 23 and 24\, 2025 in the Nature Park in Tervete.

The overall winner will not be announced.\nHowever\, the competing country can also propose its own judge for the competitions if there is a person with the appropriate skills.\n\nMore information and registration until August 20\, 2023 marika.shadeiko@olustvere.edu.ee\, +3725059304. \n  \n \nOlustvere Marmelade and Jam Fair – 2023\nTime: 23.09.2023 in Olustvere \nRules: \n\nThe participant prepares either savory or sweet preserves.\nThe participant marks his / her deposit (s) by writing on the note the name of the deposit\, the name and place of the manufacturer (farm or village\, rural municipality / city\, county\, school\, etc.). Nice if the note is already designed at home. Those who have not done so can mark the deposit on site.\nThe deposits are numbered by the organizers and according to them the visitors can evaluate the deposits as follows: salty deposits\, sweet deposits.\nVisitors will be provided with cups and spoons for tasting by the organizers.\nIf possible\, the participant will bring reproduced recipes that can be distributed to visitors.\nThe votes cast by visitors shall be counted by a three-member committee: 1 local representative\, 1 voluntary and 1 on-site organizer.\nThe 3 best salt cans\, the 3 best sweet cans and the 3 ahha cans that have received the most votes from visitors will be rewarded.\nJams must be brought with you\, they cannot be made on site.\nThe 6 fastest teams that register for the competition will be able to compete.\n\n  \nMore information and registration until August 20\, 2023 marika.shadeiko@olustvere.edu.ee\, +3725059304 \n  \n
