First Irish Team taking part in Agro Challenges

September 28, 2023
By: Gerd Alscher

Teagasc were delighted to have a team participating for the first time at the 2023 Agro Challenges in Slovakia. Rosie, Wayne, Ellen and Conor were selected for Team Ireland from two agricultural colleges. Together with their team leaders and mentors, they met and prepared in advance of the competition. The team were delighted to win one silver, three bronze medals and finish 10th overall. However, the highlight was meeting with and working alongside their other European teams and sharing experiences and fun in the process. The trip to Slovakia was the first time some of the group travelled outside of Ireland, so it was a great personal and educational experience for all. Many thanks for Teagasc colleagues who assisted with all the preparations for the event. Thanks also to FBD Insurance for their support in this new educational opportunity for Teagasc students.
