How do we involve citizens in biodiversity restoration? That is the focus question of the research project “Nature-inclusive behavior of citizens”.
Biodiversity in the Netherlands is declining and it is time to take action. A consortium existing of land-based universities of applied sciences, municipalities and foundations is investigating how we can involve citizens in nature-inclusive thinking and acting. It is crucial that people and nature are brought closer together. This can be done, for example, by integrating natural facilities in places where people live, work and learn.
The consortium hopes to provide insights for municipalities and organizations to develop new projects and interventions that narrow the gap between people and nature.
