On 22nd of September beside to Youth Ploughing Contest occurred in Olustvere another great event – food preservings including marmalade contest and Estonian local food fair.
About 3500 people visited the fair, the Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics and Youth Ploughing Contest. The headmaster of the school, Arnold Pastak said that it is cheerful to see that the event has become so popular. Also, he mentioned that year by year young people take more and more interest in homemade food and food preserving. “It’s great that in every year people participate in the fair and bring us new exciting flavor combinations!” He added “New ideas like carrot jam or “Death of running nose” have found their way out to market from the Olustvere food fair and competition”. Arnold Pastak added that this year brought products to competition not only local producers but also friends and partners from Luxembourg, Latvia and Ukraine.
All visitors could taste competing products and choose their favorites. After tasting of competing products the winners were announced in three categories.

- Maule’s quince (Chaenomeles japonica) fruit cream
