Romania’s Flora
It was edited in 13 volumes, between 1952 and 1976, each volume containing an average of about 717 pages in the 60 / 70×100 format, thus a total of 9,324 pages comprising the entire vascular flora of Romania, that is over 3600 species. The work is distinguished by 1594 original drawings made for 25 years by 12 selected contestants by the type of field picked to have them at hand in a rich illustrative material. The drawings made for Flora have both scientific and artistic value. Thus, Romania’s Flora became a monographic work of great proportions that required a 24-year edition by 28 different authors and collaborators. Because the species spreading goes up to the local level, the Flora of Romania carries out a formidable work instrument for the agricultural, forestry and environmental teachers in our country, but also for the pupils and students of all resource schools in the Carpathian Mountains.
