Rural Youth Austria (Landjugend Österreich) is a member of EUROPEA Austria.
Who are we?
Landjugend is Austria’s largest rural youth organization with almost 90,000 members. We have positioned ourselves as a modern youth organization which is aware of its agricultural roots. The personal development of young people takes centre stage.
How are we organized?
We have 1,200 groups which operate on a national, provincial, district and local level. The groups are led by voluntary officials. In addition, we are served by salaried consultants.
Young & International
The international sector is focused on international trainings/internships in agriculture to European and oversea countries. We are cooperating with 10 partner organizations all around the world.
Landjugend has been applying for Leonardo and now Erasmus+ funding for 18 years. Our E+ projects are currently acting with about 300 students from all over Austria. The students are attending agricultural schools (vocational and higher schools). The internship is a compulsory part of their education.
Landjugend has been a part of the network IFYE (international farmers youth exchange) for many years. We are cooperating with around 12 partner organizations all over the world.
