The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the lives of all the people, including the employees, teachers and students of Secondary School of Veterinary Studies in Nitra (SK). Teachers have suddenly lost their audience, classrooms have become empty, the delicious smell of food from our school canteen has ceased to spread and the school dormitory, always full of students´ voices and laughter, has become orphaned. In the beginning, we might have felt that school life had stopped, but we had to get rid of this feeling very quickly since the reconstruction of the school building had to be carried on despite the difficult lockdown conditions. Although the situation was influenced by the difficult conditions of the pandemic, we have been filled up with energy since we have been looking forward to welcoming our students to the new premises.
Planting the fruit trees could not be postponed either and four-legged animal friends in the school farm need to be fed and looked after daily, whether there is Covid or not. All the plants, bushes and trees in the school garden require to be watered and cultivated.
Life in our school cannot stopped really, even though we all have to respect the new conditions and measures related to the Covid-19 pandemic, we all suddenly got more patient and tolerant. The daily routines of school staff and students have had to be changed and we have been gradually finding new ways how to communicate with each other and how to stay in touch. This situation definitely has challenged us to be more flexible, creative and it has enriched us with new, non-traditional solutions and of course, that has moved us forward.
School life has not stopped at all, but on the contrary, a new life was born. Enjoy the following shots 🙂
