From agriculture and forestry to horticulture, viticulture, food production and practical rural skills – Slovak vocational schools showed at AGROKOMPLEX 2026 how diverse and hands-on vocational education can be.
At the 51st International Agricultural and Food Exhibition in Nitra, schools presented their study programmes, students’ work, practical skills and innovative approaches to education.
🌾 Spojená škola Poltár presented programmes connected with farming, forestry mechanisation and agricultural production.
🌿 SOŠ Milana Hodžu in Banská Bystrica showcased products and practical activities linked to agriculture, food, nature and rural life.
🌻 SOŠ regionálneho rozvoja and SOŠ záhradnícka in Rakovice highlighted horticulture, floristry, garden design, tourism and environmental education.
🌲 SOŠ lesnícka in Banská Štiavnica brought forestry education and practical experiences closer to visitors.
🍇 SOŠ vinársko-ovocinárska in Modra presented the traditions and skills connected with viticulture, fruit growing and rural development.
🌱 Spojená škola Ivanka pri Dunaji presented its agricultural and vocational education and opportunities for students to gain practical experience.
🐾Stredná odborná škola veterinárna, Nitra brought the perspective of veterinary and agricultural education, combining animal care, farming, kynology and practical training. Its students also took part in AgroSkills 2026 at AGROKOMPLEX, testing their practical skills in modern agricultural technology and fieldwork.
The exhibition also gave students an opportunity to meet professionals, discover modern technologies and experience the connection between education, skills, innovation and the real needs of rural areas.
And this is exactly what vocational education is about: learning by doing, developing skills and preparing young people for the future of rural Europe. 🇪🇺🌱
The schools were part of the vocational education presentation organised by the Slovak Agriculture and Food Chamber (SPPK). The 2026 edition also included the Best School Exhibition – Agrokomplex 2026 competition, with 12 secondary vocational schools participating.
