September 10, 2020
By: Gerd Alscher

All schools in the German federal country Saxony started after 6 weeks summer holidays on 31 August into the new schoolyear. Although the coronavirus is still moderately present here, the Education ministry decided to set no strong restrictions for the schools. Each school must have an individual hygiene plan according to the governmental regulations, but the headmaster can decide on her or his own in a certain scope how strict they should be applied. For example, the wearing of masks during the lessons is officially recommended, but not mandatory and lies in the responsibility of each headmaster. Moreover, many teachers have changed a part of their lessons including more digital media, not only in order to be prepared for a possible next lockdown…

EUROPEA school Fachschulzentrum Freiberg-Zug also started last week an d was happy to welcome two new college classes, one in agriculture and one in housekeeping. The agricultural students from two classes, who started their final schoolyear this Monday after having worked in companies for 20 weeks, immediately prepared for an upcoming exam concerning the knowledge of (pasture) plants.
