The LFS Hohenlehen will work with the Republic of Ghana in the future
Working meeting with Federal President Van der Bellen and the President of the Republic of Ghana
Hohenlehen (January 31, 2024) The official visit of Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo to Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen took place in Vienna. Both heads of state reiterated their desire to expand relations. In addition to economic relations, cooperation will also be deepened in the education sector in the future. As a representative of the agricultural school system, Maria Ottenschläger, head of the Hohenlehen Mountain Farm School, took part in the meeting, which took place as part of the “Africa Day 2024” conference.
During the discussions in the Hofburg, the possibilities for cooperation between Austria and Ghana in the field of agricultural education were explored. The decisive factor for the admission of the Hohenlehen technical school is its leading role in organic cattle breeding, including meat processing and direct marketing. The school also has an EU-certified slaughterhouse and a farm shop. Concrete projects are to be agreed upon this year and further working meetings are planned.
