The teacher training course ‘Services and Products’ at Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Wageningen, Netherlands, was awarded the title ‘Top Training’ according to the national selection guide for universities of applied sciences 2023. A great boost for this new professionally-oriented teacher training course that focuses on current and sustainable pre-vocational and secondary vocational education. The agricultural studies of the Aeres faculty in Dronten (north of The Netherlands) are also doing very well. The Bachelor’s degree programs in Horticulture & Agriculture (for the fourth year in a row) and Animal and Livestock Husbandry, the Associate degrees (Ad) Business Administration & Agrifood Business and Animal Husbandry and Livestock were also awarded the title of ‘Top Training’.
There are many social developments and transitions that follow each other at an ever faster pace. The switch to other forms of use of our nature and living spaces, the changes in the food system and the consequences of climatic changes for our well-being are examples of developments. How should our students prepare for their role in these profound changes? That is a great task for Aeres University of Applied Sciences, which, together with teachers, researchers and the professional field, trains students to take their role in this changing world. Every year, Aeres University of Applied Sciences welcomes a large group of students who opt for a future-oriented green study or vocationally-oriented teacher training.
