pplied for and received a grant from the European consortium for teachers at the Vallfogona de Balaguer Agricultural School.
The beneficiary of the grant was Maria Carme Castellà Riera, a veterinarian and teacher at the school. The mobility took place between June 15 and 19, 2025, in Belgium, at the Kogeka Sint-Josef school.
The purpose of the visit was to carry out job shadowing (learning by observation).
Kogeka is a school focused on vocational training in the fields of agriculture, science and technology, food, and catering.
The school’s contact person, Joris Arnauts (also the teacher’s tutor), showed her all the school’s facilities and the buildings where the students carry out their agricultural and livestock practices, as well as all the classrooms where they have teaching materials and tools.
In addition, as it was the end of the school year, she was able to observe how the teachers conducted the students’ practical exams and evaluations.
Outside the center, she visited farms with Blue and White cows and free-range pigs.
Apart from the pleasant experience, the objective was also to establish contact with the Belgian school in order to send students there for agricultural and livestock internships.
