News from Escola Profissional de Desenvolvimento Rural do Rodo (Quinta do Rodo – Godim, Peso da Régua, Portugal)
Throughout the school year, students of the Technical Wine Course promoted several activities, of which the following stand out:
- practical classes, for example wine quality control;
- II Viticulture and Oenology Conference and Open Day for Demonstration of Agricultural Machinery at Quinta do Rodo (School), open to the community;
- Wine pairing tasting, in articulation with the Technical Course in Cooking and Pastry and participation in community events related to wine and vineyards, such as Douro Wine City.
With these activities, it is intended to value practical work, based on scientific rigor and entrepreneurship and updating/modernization skills, taking into account the context of the Douro Demarcated Region and the partner entities for this area of development.
