With garlic against COVID-19

Garlic is known as a healing plant from ancient times. But at the beginning we have to plant the garlic in the soil. Now – last week in September to beginning October – is suitable for planting winter garlic (hard-neck garlic) in Estonia. Our young gardeners prepared the soil and garlic bulbs. After that the planting could start! After planting all rows were covered with mulch to ensure for garlic better wintering conditions.

The work was done by students with intellectual disability (Gardener EQF level 2) studying in the Maarja Küla branch of Räpina School of Horticulture. The students were supervised by a vegetable gardening teacher Tairi Albert. All students worked hard and enjoyed the day in the field.
